  3. Morning my lovely fellow quitters and the NOPE faithful ... today sees us recognising World Asthma Day... as our GP said in he sms announcement ... make sure you get a regular review for your preventors .. Thinking of Jillar, and the Kid, and everyone else who suffers with this. It is also International NO DIET Day...It encourages everyone to have a healthy and balanced relationship with food, exercise and their body, no matter what size or shape they are. (cos if you don't love yourself how the hell is anyone else going to). SO on this lovely Sunday I do hereby swear NOPE .. not today, not tomorrow, not ever, forever. TOPIC OF THE DAY: Slang Spectacular Sundee .... please come and share your slang... and you can learn heaps of scottish and Aussie and pommy stuff from the Sunday regulars... I promise we don't bite.

  5. Hi everyone, I did go to step 2 of the patch this morning. The craves are a bit strong but I breathe and meditate through them, so doing ok so far. My body and mind are definitely feeling the reduction in nicotine. Two steps forward, one step backward, but I am thankful that net gain, I am one step ahead of the game to start this week.

  13. Hi weegie, thanks for the encouragement and description of your experience. Congrats on your quit. Step 2 is 14 mg of nicotine. Step 1 was 21 mg. Step 3 is 7 mg. And I will not hesitate to back on 21mg patch if I feel my quit is in jeapordy.

  14. For me cigarettes were a company in solitude. I have recently moved to another country and immediately it triggered a thought “now you’re on your own, sit and enjoy the cigarette”. I’ve been smoke-free for exactly six months and this quit has been relatively calm, so those thoughts were unexpected. But I’m glad I’ve beaten another scheme, will be stronger in case there’s some forgotten, hidden trigger lurking and waiting for its moment.

  17. don't stress too much... we (aussies) insult our mates as a sign of our friendship and respect (if ya mates don't shit stir you and call ya names ya not really good mates). Its kind of like if you did something silly me saying "Oh you duffa"... or "oh ya puddin'" but as with everything it depends on the tone and the context how mean it is... Have I mentioned we are a weird lot?

  19. I don't want one but, if you go to the top left of the main page, you will see TICKER or, here, Miss A, use this handy link Ticker. Are you The Avian from QSMB ? If so, I've been a lurking fan for years. So sorry your site crashed, gah...all that information and history lost is heartbreaking. Hope you will feel good here, it is an honor to see you. You were very influential helping me to have a successful quit, thank you.

  23. Do you really mean, I would love to smoke ? or, are you just saying that casually, jokey ? If you 'would love to smoke really', I wonder why ? Why would you love to smoke ? You know, it is a lot more than a bad habit to avoid, don't you ? Why would you love to smoke after you quit and, I assume, educated yourself about addiction ? Why would you love to smoke ?

  28. Wot I dunno if I can tell you of the joys of golden syrup dumplings... I didn't realise they were a national secret ... they are like sweetened stew dumplings boiled in a pot with a watery golden syrup sauce that also buttery... you serve them steaming hot wuth cream or icecream... ...You seriously don't have them?

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
