Feeling the love. Thank you all very much. I am doing really well. The moments of crave are farther apart, sometimes days. I am not obsessing like previous attempts. My health is slowly improving. I have been checked head to toe, stress tested, arteries ultrasounded. I have some blockage, but as long as I stay off the smokes my doctors have told me I won’t have to take pills or have any repairs done for the near future. This is huge news. I sadly will admit, since I quit I felt my health sliding, my energy has disappeared, I was afraid that my quit was too late. I know I smoked too long. I am happy that for the time being my body will begin to mend and the smoking seems to be fading into a nasty memory. Your constant support is huge, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Decided to quit lurking and introduce myself ? 47 nights ago , I laid in bed and thought to myself “ what if I got up tomorrow and didn’t smoke?!?, what if I just never lit another cigarette ?!?” Then there were all the negative voices , y’all know the ones , the “you’re too old “ “ at your age can you even be saved anymore.” You see im 56 and probably have smoked a pack a day for 38 years . Anyway I got up the next morning and have not smoked since. I cried , I screamed but I did not smoke ! It was harder than I thought and easier than I ever thought . It gets better , there are days now I will go six hours without thinking about smoking . I find that to be remarkable after 38 years? since it was a late night decision I had nothing to help so it was cold turkey. And to think I always had the strength and never knew it . Here’s to reminding myself every day ?5 points

Good morning ?. Today is day 7 and I am pleasantly surprised to find that I have only thought if having a cig a couple times and I quickly noped them away. I feel good this morning... Both mentally and physically and am taking the time to build up my reserves for what comes next. I am going to step 2 tomorrow and I am preparing for the battles. I hope everyone is doing well and keeping strong.5 points

Morning my lovely fellow quitters and the NOPE faithful ... today sees us recognising World Asthma Day... as our GP said in he sms announcement ... make sure you get a regular review for your preventors .. Thinking of Jillar, and the Kid, and everyone else who suffers with this. It is also International NO DIET Day...It encourages everyone to have a healthy and balanced relationship with food, exercise and their body, no matter what size or shape they are. (cos if you don't love yourself how the hell is anyone else going to). SO on this lovely Sunday I do hereby swear NOPE .. not today, not tomorrow, not ever, forever. TOPIC OF THE DAY: Slang Spectacular Sundee .... please come and share your slang... and you can learn heaps of scottish and Aussie and pommy stuff from the Sunday regulars... I promise we don't bite.5 points

Thank you all. A funny thing, I usually am pretty aware of the length of my quit but I actually forgot that yesterday was my 4 month mark. That could be a good thing in a way since I am taking each day now and not thinking so much of smoking. Still keeping my guard though, those craves can sneak up on you.5 points

Good morning my lovely fellow Nopers, Welcome to the weekend. That time where we can all put up our feet, have a sleep in and just chillax until Monday comes again... or live in reality and do all the tasks at home that have been neglected all week. All around the world today is International Midwives Day... and most of us would have a midwife to thank for being here or for our kids being here so yay midwives (don't stress no midwives in action shots). On my home front (Victoria) it is Shine A Light On Road Safty day, a day were we're all asked to have our headlights on during the day as a silent witness to the trauma and horror that comes from not safe roads. Considering she is looking a lot grey and overcast out there the headlights should be on anyway, but its free, it costs nothing and if even one person wonders why and decides to be a bit safer on the roads all the better. So to a world with out Midwives and to a world with unsafe roads I say.... NOPE Oh and for you North Americans... Happy Cinco de Mayo... which google tells me is the celebration of Mexico's defeat of the French during a battle in the 1800's or a celebration of Mexican Culture in the USA... What ever it remember that its one tequila, two tequila, three tequila, floor.... but well done to the olden day Mexicans who told the French army.. "NOPE" .. although they probably said "No, ni una sola bocanada." (well that's what google says) Topic of the Day: Songs that you love.4 points

All you can do is prepare as best you can, put on some bravado with your make-up and have at it ! This build-up before is always the worst part. You'll be great, of course, you'll be great. The audience wants You to like Them, that is the dynamic. They want to be a good audience so, let them be on your side. All that and deep breaths, you are going to knock em dead. Don't forget, on Wednesday, we will be in the crowd, wildly cheering you on.4 points

Hmm, I think I’m still in a fog. Recently couldn’t concentrate at all! ? in the first weeks of the quit i suffered from insomnia and this contributed to my state of mind(lessness) perhaps even more than lack of smoke.3 points

OMG were any of us wheelchair bound midgets??? Wait a second... what were we doing, the three of us, that was such fun?????? Oh and no issues with being judged... we all parent our own way and as long as our kids don't grow up to be mass murderers I figure we nailed it.3 points

Hi, Barry and Jo. Not usually up this late. I'm drinking a glass of whisky with one cube, celebrating the fact that I just finished writing a new piece (essay ?) for my writing blog. It's about some ephemera, old photos...train tickets, stashed in an envelope that friend just sent to me. It's still kinda rough and needs editing and if anyone want to edit, they are free to give it a go. I can't look at it anymore. I lost it once when the site froze. This whisky is going to be GOOD.3 points
