Having not had a cigarette for almost 70 days, yesterday afternoon I remove myself from my easy chair to go out to the garage to smoke a cigarette. Something I’ve done thousands of times before. I was in the garage looking for my cigarettes when I realized, I don’t smoke anymore. (Shaking head with hand on hips as to say, what the fack ??) It was almost like a dream, but I wasn’t sleeping. Cooking dinner last night, brought the noodles to a boil and figured, what the hell, I’ll go outside and smoke a cigarette while the noodles boil. But there’s a problem with that, yeah, I don’t smoke anymore. Again, almost like a dream… I have quit a few addictive things in my life. Without going into detail one of which included inpatient detox and inpatient rehab. Granted, that was a long time ago, but still… These cigarettes, they should be illegal. Swear, nicotine should be a schedule one drug, in the same category with heroin and methamphetamine. Very addictive with no medicinal value whatsoever. (Cannabis is also in that category with no apparent reason other than greed) Quitting cigarettes it’s not an easy life task. But those of us who have quit should be very proud of ourselves. Congratulations quitters! Keep it up.9 points

*** Sslip Out of Sticks Line Up ...... Sticks 2018 Season in Doubt *** Word has it that the Sticks newbie and 2018 team lynch pin, Sslip is out indefinitely due to wounds obtained during yesterdays epic battle in Chicks or Sticks. After a gruelling eight hours and 18 pages of to-ing and fro-ing Sslip was left a bloody and battered mess at the hands of the chicks. In a battle that resembled the trenches of the first world war Sslip stood to the last, valiantly defending the sticks position before he fell. There are rumours around that Sslip should recieve a VC for his efforts on the field however more importantly questions must be answered by the top brass in the Sticks camp. How was a mere newbie, who was barely tested, be allowed to be left un-supported and alone during such a crucial battle. Just how could a lead of +16 we dwindled away to an eventual loss. Who should be hanging there heads in shame? Just where were his fellow Sticks and why was he left hanging out to dry? Confidential sources have it that the commissioner has asked for an enquiry to be launched to rule out a severe case of match fixing as certain members of the Sticks camp have been seen driving around the boards in new super cars. How much money was wagered against the sticks is not quite clear but there are distinct signs that there was a choreographed avoidance of the thread yesterday to ensure a Chicks win. How much and Who had money on themselves, the whole train wants to know? When contacted about these allegations of match fixing, gambling and newbie neglect Wispers, Bakon, Mr. Titwanker and Reci were all unavailable for comment. Finally, the word from Sslip's management is that he will be out until such time as he obtains a medical clearance. Sslip's absence from the Sticks line up is a much needed season boost for the flailing Chicks.8 points

PMSL I have no further comment to make at this stage of proceedings, although I have gained access to confidential pictures of Reci arriving at the inquest. It also appears Jillar's family has been in on the act. Any further comments will be issued by my representatives.8 points

In 6 weeks, we will be arriving at the condo we rented in Hatteras N.C.! 12 years ago, our oldest daughter got married in the Outer Banks, and that was my first time experiencing it! What a relaxing destination! This will be the first time me and my wife have made the trip by ourselves. We have always gone with other family members. 2 years ago, all my daughters their husbands and granddaughters rented an ocean front ,8 bedroom house in South NagsHead... 17 of us!!! Best vacation ever!!! Last year my wife’s sister went with us and we stayed a little farther south in Rodanthe...again, ocean front in a 4 bedroom house...off season rates are very affordable. This year we are in a condo, further south yet, in Hatteras. I am sure I would really prefer a house, but we were in Marco Island (Florida) in January, and have a East Coast cruise planned for October (New York-to-Nova Scotia), so we had to try and save some money or we couldn’t afford the OBX too. We try to include an OBX trip every year, and have built some great memories... anyone else (besides Bakon) spend time in the OBX? It will be bike week this year when we arrive, so I’m sure that will just add another layer of awesomeness.4 points

Some good words spoken… I’m on guard, don’t fret. Just have to keep in mind that no matter what life throws at me, smoking will not make it better. No matter what. Cigarettes do nothing me/us. If we’re still here, we’re not smoking. No matter what our quit time, congratulations to every(damned)one of us!4 points

That's pretty normal for where you are in your quit. This is the way I saw it when I was going through some weird stuff around that stage in my quit. You fight like hell for the 1st month - month & a half. Things start to settle down then but you are still super focused daily on your quit. It's top of mind all the time. You start getting to three months - hey! Everything's different now. You're sort of king of getting comfortable with things now and the newness of the early quit has long since gone. Your mind isn't super focused on the quit thing all the time now. That's when your brain's autopilot kicks in - like your trip to the garage thing and those random thoughts like, hey I should head out for a smoke now, when something is happening that may have brought you to a smoke before. It's an easier time in some ways but it can also be a more dangerous time. You gotta just do what you're doing now. Realize what's going on and that it's just not what you do anymore - smoking that is I gotta say, it takes a full year at least and probably even more before those random thoughts stop coming with frequency. It just takes our brains soooo long to readjust. It's not hard all that time, you just need to stay on guard and not act on any thoughts you might have about smoking.3 points

Thanks everyone?. I feel so honored with all the support I get from everyone here. It's been a whole 3 months with not one smoke, hell sometimes I still can't believe i really quit! Most days I honestly now feel like I never smoked. Then I do have those days where I think about a smoke for all of 5 seconds. Now I am a firm believer that anything is possible. Much Love?3 points
