I'm another QSMB graduate looking for a new home. I smoked for about 4 decades before deciding it was time to do or die, and so I quit. I just passed my 3 year anniversary last month on February 24th, and this apparently was such a momentous occasion that it crashed the entire QSMB website. Sorry. It's great to see some familiar faces and some wonderful new ones, and a huge thank you to all the QuitTrain members who have been so welcoming as folks find their way over here..

NOPE from me today i don't smoke.

I personally think the new owners bought the name quitsmoking.com to sell their quit smoking products only and that there was nothing to gain by keeping the message board going. The store was updated and their products are sold through several different sites including Amazon. There is no need to maintain a forum in their view. Like Johnny5 said we are very fortunate to have this site, provided to us by a former smoker, welcome us all no strings attached. I thank you again Marylandquitter and everyone else who have welcomed us unconditionally.

I don't deserve all these kind words! I mean, you all are the reason I'm here celebrating today: I literally do not think I would have made it without you. I should be celebrating YOU , not the other way around. I don't have enough words tonight to express myself. I've been near tears several times today with what I think is sheer happiness at what I - and you my support group - have accomplished this last year. Silly, yes? But it's how I feel: quitting smoking has made me very very happy. So: thank you. Thank you friends old and new. Newbies: get to work. You can do this. You'll love it. It's worth whatever you have to go through.

^^^^ This ^^^^^ We are group of good people who refuse to be ruled by the big tobacco companies... Who don't care how many good people they kill...just to make money... We are fighting the same fight... This is us saying ...NOPE ..... 2 boards ..or 1.board....the fight is the same.... Quitting with a group is much more fun...

So, would appear there's a correction and an apology in order for the celebration notice I posted yesterday for G67 I recorded G67's quit date as 2017 when it should have been 2016! You were actually 1 Year & 9 Months quit yesterday. Certainly wouldn't want to short change you of a whole year's worth of your quit so ..... congrats on 1 Year, 9 Months quit G67 Sorry about that G. If you see me around the board, I'll be the one with egg on my face

You know though, the tobacco companies hate forums like this. A place where even a few people encourage others not to smoke and KTQ. They hate it. Big tobacco loses money because of forums like this or any quit site. So whether you are from QT, QSMB, or any other, we all have this in common - We are, by NOT opening our wallets to big tobacco, telling them to cram it in their asses.
