  5. Welcome WoW, I completely agree with reciprocity states, going smoke free of all is the way to go. I know it is tough but is doable and can be done -- just believe in your self, read and research here, and ask us anything -- we are here to support you. I only wished I had made the decision at the age you are making yours. Remember the NOPE pledge and you can do this.

  9. Hi WoW! Welcome to our family of non smokers. You are still very young and not smoked for all that long really so although you may not be concerned about health issues now, you are likely to at some future point so, quitting now is the best decision you could make for yourself. It's great that you want to quit for your girlfriend but, honestly, you need to want to do this for yourself to be successful long term. You're not likely to want to hear what I have to say about vaping but I do believe you need to quit smoking everything if you want to be successful long term. As you have seen yourself, when vaping isn't available, you will always gravitate back to smoking cigarettes. Quit them all is the best, and frankly, the only way to truly become smoke free. And yes, you can do it just as the rest of us here have done it. Stick around for support from like minded people and read, read, read all the information available here about this addiction. Take the NOPE pledge daily (Not One Puff Ever). These are the keys to quitting Your freedom awaits if you want to work hard for it

  11. Hi, I call myself Ron van Quit. (Pretty close to my real name:) I started smoking when I was 14 years old and smoked without quitting for more that 24 hours for 44 years. I was up to 40 cigs a day for the last few years. I quit about 9 months ago. I used Champix for 5 weeks before I smoked my last cig. Champix was a pretty weird trip for me:) I really love being free from the dumbest addiction on the planet and am thriving on the the benefits of being nicotine free. I'm kinda anti-NRT and use my own acronym instead: NNN (No Nicotine Never) to protect my Quit for the long term. I recently discovered whyquit.com and am quite happy with the research and info. Understanding is powerful. Wishing everyone a fabulous Quit Recovery

  13. Hey Martin, as long as you don’t smoke. It’s kind of strange this far in. The cravings are different. But they still pass just like earlier. It seems I have mild hallucinations. Sometimes I smell cigarettes on me or on my hands and have to think if I smoked or not. It’s very odd.

  18. I was pressed for time this morning so I did a Tabata workout (20 seconds full out followed by 10 seconds rest). Did the Concept 2 Rower, Front Squats, Farmer's Walk, and Medicine Ball Slams. Repeated the circuit 5 times. On the one hand, it's only 10 minutes. On the other hand, it's an intense 10 minutes.

  19. Actually the original "Thing" from the 1950's was the first scary movie I remember watching. The Exorcist overall is the scariest movie I have seen. I have actually been to the outdoor staircase in the movie where one of the priest's met his demise, a very scary place to be after midnight (the things I did and places I have been while in the military).

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
