  5. Strength work today (Front Squats, Inverted Rows, Bench Press, Shoulder Press, and Kettlebell Swings). Finished up with some core work on the rings: L-Sits and Planks. Strict form planks done on rings is a humbling experience. I have to carry a pair of vise-grips with me just to pick out the wedgies when I run in those things.

  8. Supposed to get a big order of hiking/trail running gear today from Backcountry. Just in time for the weekend! Planning a rigorous run on Saturday, then an easy 5 mile hike with a group from work on Sunday. Keep up the good work (and prancercising) peeps.

  9. Had a great boxing workout yesterday. I've been cutting back on the caffeine for a couple of weeks but felt like drinking some coffee yesterday. After a brief layoff, that caffeine really hit. I was all wired up and ready to do some work. Getting ready to do some strength work this morning sans the stimulants.

  12. ^^^ Exactly!! Don't take any bullshit from your addict brain. You have planted some good footings for a solid quit base but, know that this addiction takes some time to beat back into the far recesses of your mind. I was always impatient to see improvements and never though I could see any but then, 1 year later I turned around and found I don't give a crap about smoking any more. It will happen fully for you pr anyone else - just give it time and keep that attitude of "Smoking does nothing good for me"!! Because .... it's doesn't!!

  13. Raisin bran is OK at least, there is enough sugar and raisins to cover up the horrid dull taste of the bran flakes. BTW there used to be some cereal called Krinkles. They got rid of it though cause the clown just wasn't creepy enough.

  14. Hey, Janie girl... Breathe deep and take in the freedom. Yeah, it may feel like a cigarette will solve these emotions but you know it's just a lie. Every single time you fight an urge, you starve the beast. Embrace those struggles! It means the beast is dying with every ignored craving. Your quit is a fragile sprout, a newborn. Treat it just that gently and before you know it, you won't even miss these horrible nicotine sticks. Life is worth living and this is the best gift you can give yourself.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
