  23. It is incredible how fast your heart rate starts to improve. Your hands get steadier, my feet dont hurt when I walj around anymore. Im not shivering cold in 50f temperatures. I can breathe easier. And its not even two weeks yet.

  24. OMG thanks, you guys!!! I can't believe it myself... but I never once thought about it being my 8th monthiversary today! I had thought about it earlier in the week but not today with it being such a fun day seeing friends and going to the show. More later on that... But you all have been such a help and have made this quit journey a much easier ride than I thought. Thanks to all!

  26. Doreen does chase me around with a paddle, but what we do behind closed doors is between us. It's like 50 Shades of Grey meets The Benny Hill Show.

  27. Boo, you better quit messing with Doreen. What will happen if she will pull out a two foot long paddle with holes in it and spank your ass like it is never been spanked before

  28. I'm excited for you because those benefits and health wins only improve over time! You just wait until your self esteem and self worth start kicking in too, those are epic wins when you only expected health and finances. You're doing amazingly. x

  29. And it only gets better as your quit goes on. I am on day 16 and I am surprised at what has improved, especially after 40 years of smoking. I was well aware of how the lungs were affected but I was not really aware of the damage it was doing to my cardiovascular system (even though it was told to me and I had read about those negative effects I just was in denial about it). Since my quit date not only has my heart rate gone down but my blood pressure has beginning to really improve. Keep it going it will only get better for you and use this knowledge of how the health benefits are improving for you to get you thru any difficult time, I have and it has really helped.

  32. I used to be cold blooded all the time. My wife has even noticed that I’m not bundled up with the thermostat on 71° (Her happy temp) Better bloodflow must be a good thing.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
