  1. 6 years ago I smoked my last ever cigarette. Had I have continued I'd have smoked a further 87,600 cigarettes! If my chain smoking hadn't cut short my life. The turnaround in my life has been tremendous since quitting. I also quit drinking and got myself a BlackBelt in Karate amongst other personal triumphs :-) When you set your mind to it, there's nothing you can't achieve. Your life, your choices, your successes and consequences.

  2. OLD' IS WHEN... Your sweetie says, 'Lets go upstairs and make love,' and you answer, 'Pick one; I can't do both!' OLD' IS WHEN... Your friends compliment you on your new alligator shoes and you're barefoot. OLD' IS WHEN... Going bra-less pulls all the wrinkles out of your face. OLD' IS WHEN... You are cautioned to slow down by the doctor instead of by the police. OLD' IS WHEN... 'Getting a little action' means you don't need to take a laxative today. OLD' IS WHEN.... Getting lucky means you find your car in the parking lot. OLD' IS WHEN... An 'all nighter' means not getting up to use the bathroom. OLD' IS WHEN.... You're not sure if these are facts or jokes.

  6. That's great Latoya You have come a long way since your decision to quit. Be sure to remember that because you have a lot invested in your quit now! Protect that investment at all costs!! I remember that first part of my quit where time seemed to almost stand still. It was annoying! As T2B said, brain dead (I called it brain fog - same thing) and seemingly a constant fighting of the urges to smoke. It IS all normal and it DOES get better the further you go into your quit, Unfortunately, it doesn't happen as quickly as we would like but, IT DOES HAPPEN for everyone who stays with NOPE. You will continue to have good days and some not so great days but, you have now developed the tools to fight for your freedom from this addiction. You ARE doing it now big time! Your Mom is 1 week smoke free tomorrow too! I'm sure you two are supporting each other a lot and we are thrilled that both of you are part of our community. I'll post something up in the celebrations thread for her tomorrow morning because she deserves a little recognition for reaching the 1 week mark. She's doin' great too

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
