very tired.

feeling thin and quick on the trigger.

wish I could sleep during the day.

do not want to utilize otc sleep stuff.

do not feel like doing anything

woke alarmed in the middle of the night.

had spoken to my mom (celebrating her birthday) yesterday afternoon and she had a dry cough.  WORRIED.  she says she feels fine and it was a cough due to not speaking too often these days.

managed not to call my mom in the middle of the night with my panic.  managed not to wake my marvelous man, either.   didn't really get much sound sleep after awakening....stuck in the half dream hazy space.   seems to have followed me into the day as I navigate through it...  have completed a few food prep and storage chores (rubbed my eyes after chopping serrano chiles, so that woke me up for awhile)

have that feeling in my stomach like I have made a grave error.

good news....these feelings will change.

on the train.   is there a sleeping car?                                                                                              OIP.Vtdwbu1_qsYHCg2Ze3o8bgAAAA?w=275&h=2

A luxurious sleeping car.  I think a lot of us are finding comfort in sleep.

Well, except for some dreams.  I thought I was doing really good with viral stress but, then had a rocking nightmare that I had Ebola.

So, concern is leaking out for sure.

Try and put your mind to beauty.  A beautiful memory.  A song.  A scent.  These and beautiful deep breaths will sustain you.

What's going on is causing a lot of restless nights for a lot of people so it's hard to know at your stage of the quit whether it's the virus or quitting that's causing your insomnia. My guess is it's a little of both.

The quitters insomnia for me lasted a couple of months if I remember correctly. And I know you don't want to take an OTC sleep aid but I found just taking one pill a couple times a week as needed was just enough to take the edge off and give me some much needed rest. You could also try edibles if it's legal in your state, a hot toddie, or even a relaxing bubble bath before bed.

You're doing great though and look at all the money you've saved already! 😊

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
