Craves strong today


Day 18, third day on the step 2 patch. I'm craving bad today. I don't know what it is. But I'm home alone and don't know what to do. I'm deep breathing right now, watching Scrubs, and drinking ice water. I went for a walk and felt peaceful during it, with no cravings, but as soon as I got home I got anxious. I figure writing all this down is a good thing and helping to remind myself that I'm not always going to face easy days.

 

One thing I'm doing is reminding myself that if I quit for five years (or more) then I'm taking a trip to Japan as soon as I've saved up for it. I'm even studying Japanese now to learn the language and culture. Though I'm not doing so good on the vocabulary or reading hiragana. I'm getting there, though. Just practice every day, right?

Since the walk helped you to feel peaceful and you didn't have cravings,

I say keep walking !  Go walking then sit and write a while, walk some more.

Good that you wrote about it.  Get through this day any way you can.  Can you eat a whole bunch? Can you go to sleep early? Can you get out of the house and go to a movie?  How about a manicure or pedicure? Anything to pass the time so you can get to bed and wake up fresh.

You know, I've never had a manicure or a pedicure before? Just never thought about it. I wouldn't know where to go get one. Movies, unfortunately, are too expensive. I just saw one with a friend and it almost cost me $50 for the tickets and snacks (thankfully he had a rewards card and the movie tickets were free, so I just paid about $20 in snacks). I've had some cereal, a red bean paste bun (more delicious than it sounds), a granola bar, a Clif bar (you know, those dense nutrient things) and a banana so far. Doesn't sound like much, but I fill up pretty fast. Right now I'm chilling outside in the shade with a glass of ice water and chatting with a friend on Skype. I've gone for two walks already today. Though the fourms I'm on are a little slow today so I'm still a little bored. I did read some of my Reader's Digest magazine before I grew tired of it. I don't know why, but reading books is tiring these days. That's why I like things with short snippets. I got a Chicken Soup for the Soul Women's Devotional Stories book and have been reading a story out of that each day. Today's was about change and trusting in it and how it brings blessings. When I applied that sort of thinking to smoking, it really helped me out today. I might see about going out and having tea today or something. Maybe invite my friend along.

Hi, I see that you survived yesterday.  Yey!   :)  As far as the manicure/pedicure, here in Miami we have a ton of nail places in every shopping center so you can get your nails and feet done for cheap. Not sure where you live....Before they had these places, I would go to a manicurist at a beauty salon................When I first quit I watched a lot of funny youtube videos and used its calming meditation videos to make myself relax and/or fall asleep. I used to fall asleep listening to videos of rain storms or winter storms.

I'll have to find a place. Might be nice having my nails professionally done.
