Don't over think this. Don't think long term, simply think today, I won't smoke today and keep that. I think anymore then that and our addiction is programmed to scare us into submission so ditch the long term plans for now, it'll come later :) xx

Day 5: today is not going to well. the thought to smoke for today to help ease with the tension and I can quit again tomorrow or maybe later when it will be a little easier is being very persuasive. my commitment is wavering, once again.

Listen up!  You have already pledged not to smoke today, so unless you want to be a liar and a smoker...you will not smoke.  It will not ease the tension, it will just make it come back in 20 minutes.  Go do some reading about quitting, or watch the videos.  You know better than this stupid junkie thinking!

Also, Ex Smoker, if you don't make a new post to your blog, but just keep adding comments, you are going to drop off the "recent" section and many of us will not see you.  While I understand you want a blog, many of your posts would be better under SOS or  Quit Smoking Discussions, where people will be sure to see them.  I'm just trying to help!

Yep, what Nancy said.

Thinking about you, Ex.

Hang tough and chew on galvanized nails if you have to.

It will get better.

It will get a lot better.

It will get a lot better SOON.

marching on to day 6.  I am sure glad I never have to do day 5 again. I musta thought screw this, i dont want to be a non smoker 10 times today. but then I would think that's a lie. I want to be a non smoker more than anything else. and I thought that 11 times. still craving but not trying to focus on it to much. I know i can still do this

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
