Day 11

Well, the topic title says it all for me. It's day 11, and I'm not going to smoke today.

Rainy day here, and first cup of coffee after 8 hours of solid sleep. This is still such a rarity for me I can't get over it. I'd look at people who could go to bed at 10 pm and sleep all night with awe and amazement. Maybe my sleep patterns will revert back eventually, but I sure like this part of being a non smoker. No brain fog to wade through, no bruises on my shoulders from stumbling into those door frames that seemed to move at night. lol!

My words for the day:

Perseverance

Vigilance.

Everyone enjoy the day, or night, depending on the time frame.

Well, spent the day with my mom and son; my mom and son are learning Spanish; I didn't understand most of what they were saying today, ha! It's just too cool to see those two together. Raff, my son, is now trying to "catch up" because gramma is ahead of him in the lessons. Mom is real supportive about me not smoking; heck, she's been praying for years. . .lol! It was a mildly miserable day with several moments of not miserable with no moments of truly horrid. Boy. . .that was almost. . .not sparkly.

Several triggers, like walking out to get her mail (always lit up) etc, but they were easy to recognize and walk through. I've started to notice that the "triggers" are getting less intense; the trigger after eating, for instance; still there, but not quite as strong as a week ago.

Today was better than yesterday.

Thanks all for being here.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
